Celebrate Safety ChampionsSM

Quality Safety Edge celebrates the Safety Champions who have helped their companies create worldclass behavioral safety processes. Safety Champion is a registered service mark of Quality Safety Edge.

Creating or being a Safety Champion is not easy. Quality Safety Edge recognizes those who have worked hard to create worldclass Behavioral Safety processes and become Safety Champions. We plan to celebrate new Safety Champions regularly.

Our most recent Safety Champions are Mary and Licia Lee at Devon Energy Gas Services. The two are our first mother-and-daughter Safety Champions team. They share an hour commute to and from work, and often use this time to talk about how they can improve Devon's S.A.F.E. process and get more of their coworkers to participate.

In February 2003, we recognized Allen White, Safety Director for SMI Steel-SC, for his work in spearheading the “Others Reminding Others” Enhanced Safety Process, with the support of our own Dr. Judith Stowe.

Our Safety Champions in June 2002 were Jeff Olsson and Al Wolfram, working at Manitoba Hydro in Winnepeg. Jeff and Al are committed to a systematic and scientific approach to keeping Manitoba Hydro one of the safest utilities in Canada.

Our second Safety Champion is Scott Cook for his work with Chevron Canada Resources. Scott is now with Chevron Overseas Petroleum in Africa.

Our very first Safety Champion – Harold Brooks of Citgo's refinery in Lake Charles, LA.

Check back soon to see if someone you know is a Safety Champion!
